Growth habit of Tropical grass
Tropical green grass is a creeping variety. This gives it self repair capabilities in case of a pitch mark, divot or gap. On the stolons, leaves are in alternate directions and nodes. The stolons are bright green in colour. When well mowed, the stolons are absent. This means the grass is perfect for golf greens where a smooth ball roll is desired.
Shade tolerance
Tropical green grass should not be grown under shade. At least 6 hours of full sun is desired for good growth.
Ability to out-compete weeds
